Schematic

Unseen specs
The HDM48000 control runs with standard Stepper motors with low impedance. The HDM48000 keeps the current constant also at high rpm, resulting in high torque at high speeds. The motors don't run more hot than under normal low-speed condition were the currents are also high.
There are no steps. The motors can take 48000 positions at full holding torque or at high speeds. The torque at 3000 rpm is still 80% of the holding torque. This results also in accelerations of 3,5 meter/sec2. This means that the motors can instantaniously accellerate to 6000 rpm and stop and do this at 50 times per second.

Extreme Power efficiency
To move the table only in x or y direction consumes much power. Using feedback energy from the motors when breaking results in a very power efficient control.
50 Circles of 3mm can be made in one second at 12,7 meters per minute with the power oscillating between the x and y motors, hardly taking any power from the power supply. In reality the motors do perform this (without a machine attached) but these figures makes one realize that the bottlenecks are at the mechanical side.
No contruction is strong enough to survive such specs

In HDM48000
8 Amp.x + 8 Amp.y = 2 Amp. total

The complete HDM48000 system configuration. Recommend motors are Pacific Scientific Nema 23 Powermax II stepper motors. Only because of the unique concept of HDM48000 control with its four quadrant amplifiers each motor operates at speeds up to 3000 rpm. at 1,2Kw output. The amplifiers can handle up to 2,7Kw per motor.
